Rehabilitation can be limited in availability for many patients with multiple sclerosis, especially for those with a higher degree of neurological disability. Increasingly, remote forms of rehabilitation through modern technologies are being utilized to provide and improve long-term care for patients in need, a trend that expanded particularly during pandemic restrictions. Numerous studies on multiple sclerosis patients have shown that telerehabilitation could be a suitable alternative to conventional rehabilitation (physical therapy). There are many forms of physiotherapeutic interventions that can be delivered remotely, such as exercises via videoconference with a physiotherapist, the use of specific devices with gaming systems, online exercise applications, or exercises based on pre-recorded videos.
The presented work offers a case study on the experiences of our institution with long-term telerehabilitation interventions focused on balance training.
